Post Number 1.
Believe it or not, this has taken me awhile. A few months, actually.
I’ve been striving for perfection, and I’m over it.
I created this blog a few months ago and have been visiting and revisiting it sporadically ever since. I spent almost an hour typing an “About” section, only to delete it weeks later. I began writing a few posts, but erased those as well.
My original goal was to have this be a place where you could come for accurate agricultural information. A place where I could share my thoughts (ahem, anger) about the latest anti-ag post I saw on Facebook or Twitter or wherever it happened to pop up that day.
Trust me, you’ll get some of that.
But I’m not an expert, and I don’t have all the answers. What I do have is a story. Over the last 9 weeks I participated in an Ag Leadership program and the message each week seemed to stay the same- “Tell your farm story.”
So that’s what I’m going to do.
Along with various posts about current issues in the ag industry, I look forward to telling you about our farm and all of the pigs, hens (like that sassy girl in the picture up top), ducks, goats, cows, dogs, and cats that live here. I know- it’s a bit of a funny farm. William grows corn and soybeans, and I will take care of my garden this year (I think Grandma Blanche might have been frowning down on me last summer) so you might just hear about those as well.
My hope is that there will be a post for everyone to enjoy. Maybe you will even see how agriculture affects your life, even if you don’t believe it just yet!
Enjoy! And don’t be afraid to ask any questions along the way!
Love it!
