It’s almost 5 o’clock and I’m trying to figure out where in the heck my weekend went! Don’t you just hate when that happens? Sometimes I can blame it on being busy, but this weekend I’m afraid I spent more time sleeping than anything. Oh well, sometimes you just need a lazy weekend.
I don’t have a whole lot to share today, but we had some new additions to the farm in the last couple weeks, so I couldn’t let another Sunday pass by without some snaps from around the farm!
First off, we have cattle on the farm again! Ok, not us, really. Our friend Tyler is keeping a few of his cows here. But of course I have the mentality of a two year old, and if I see it, it’s mine. So therefore, I have cattle!
Aren’t they just adorable? Snot and all! They are pretty skittish, so I haven’t been able to get too many photos of them yet. There’s just something about that cautious yet curious look on their faces that I can’t get enough of though. You’ll have to keep an eye out for more pictures once it starts warming up. (I don’t have the patience to stand outside for very long in this cold weather. Hurry up and get it together, Illinois!)
Next, Merd had kittens! I’m really not a cat person, but I just love how cute and soft and cute kittens are. Did I mention they are super cute?
Merd has never really been a great mother to her kittens, but she is so snuggly and protective with these. I could sit and take pictures of them all day!
Finally, we had our last litter of piglets for the winter! Our Hereford sow gave birth to 7 piglets. She was boar-bred, so we weren’t able to pinpoint her due date like we were able to with the rest of our winter litters. It’s not really ideal, but I can’t say I mind having piglets in an otherwise empty farrowing room!
Like the cattle, the Hereford piglets are pretty shy, so I don’t have too many photos yet. But you know me, I’ll be out there every chance I get until I get the perfect shots!
That’s all I have for today’s Sunday Snaps! What was your favorite? I’m having a hard time choosing. Let me know your favorites in the comments below!
