About

Hey there! Welcome to my blog!

It’s still pretty new, so there isn’t a whole lot to see yet, but I can’t wait to start telling my story.

While you wait for me to get a few more posts up, I figured I could at least introduce myself.

I’m Gracelynn, a 24-year old, new-found Illinois farm girl. I grew up riding in the tractor with my grandpa, but never really took an interest in Agriculture until I was in college.

After a year in the city at art school, and another year at my local community college figuring out what the heck I wanted to do with my life, I finally enrolled in the Agribusiness Management program at Blackhawk East and everything fell into place.

Now I’m the Ag in the Classroom Coordinator for Bureau County, and I live on a farm outside of Walnut with my second favorite farmer, William. (Obviously my grandpa is my first favorite.) Before meeting me, William grew corn and soybeans, and raised pigs. Now he’s lucky enough to also have 6 goats, 6 layer hens, 2 ducks, 9 chicks, 3 dogs, 9 cats, and a partridge in pear tree. Ok, I’m joking about the partridge. And the pear tree. But that would be pretty neat.

Anyway, I can’t wait to share our farm story! If you ever have any questions, please don’t hesitate to ask!
